Hengki is a Partner at NARA Law, with over 15 years of extensive experience in dispute resolution, insolvency and restructuring, commercial arbitration, financial services litigation, regulatory investigations, antitrust, and employment law. Prior to joining NARA Law, Hengki served as a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group at a leading corporate law firm affiliated with one of the largest global legal networks, where he honed his expertise in complex and high-impact matters.
He is a trusted advisor to a wide range of top-tier clients—including multinational and domestic banks, state-owned enterprises, global corporations, fintech innovators, insurers, manufacturers, telcos, and investors—guiding them through some of Indonesia’s most critical and business-defining disputes. His work spans industries such as banking, oil and gas, retail, healthcare, and telecommunications.
Hengki’s approach is commercially minded, strategic, and solution-focused. He is known for his responsiveness, strong advocacy, and ability to deliver practical outcomes that align with his clients’ business goals in Indonesia’s evolving regulatory and commercial environment.
Among his notable cases, Hengki represented one of the world’s largest banks in multiple bankruptcy petitions against defaulting debtors across Indonesian commercial courts. He also successfully defended one of Indonesia’s major telecommunications companies in a Supreme Court case involving a bankruptcy claim brought by suppliers. In the arbitration space, he has acted for a prominent U.S.-based oil and gas company in a dispute at the Indonesian National Arbitration Board (BANI) related to pipeline construction defaults, securing a favorable award. He has also led arbitration proceedings for a subsidiary of a Europe-based global retailer in a construction dispute and represented a local insurance company in multiple insurance fraud claims, consistently delivering successful outcomes.
Hengki is adept at leveraging the full spectrum of dispute resolution strategies—pursuing litigation or arbitration when necessary, while remaining open to negotiated settlements when in the client’s best interest. His versatility ensures the most effective, timely, and commercially sound resolution for each case.
In addition to his established litigation and arbitration credentials, Hengki has a particular strength in antitrust law, both in practice and academia. He holds a Doctor of Law (Ph.D) in Antitrust Law from the University of Pelita Harapan, further reinforcing his capabilities in representing clients in competition-related investigations and disputes.
